MEET JAZ

June 26, 2017 | 18 Comments

A SENIOR DOG ENJOYING HIS GOLDEN YEARS

Beautiful Jaz

Jaz’s previous owner, herself a senior, had put into place a plan for the care of her beloved companion in the case of her death. Eighty-six year old Jacqueline put her little Jaz before all else.  He was groomed and vetted regularly.  Jacquie left money for her family to care for Jaz in the event of her death.  It must have broken her heart to know she would be leaving him behind and we hope it was some relief for her to know that Jaz would be cared for after she passed.  After all, the family had agreed to take on that responsibility and look after this tiny bundle of love.

After losing his owner, Jaz found himself alone, grieving and scared in the empty room he once shared with his person

Jacquie’s family took the money that was left to them for the care of Jaz, they emptied her room at the retirement home of any valuables and left seventeen-year-old Jaz behind.  They notified staff that they did not want him.  Another kind-hearted woman from the centre cared for Jaz until a local rescue organization was contacted and foster care was arranged for Jaz.

Ann became Jaz’s foster mom and after learning that Jacquie and Jaz had been inseparable for seventeen years, decided Jaz would not be shuffled around anymore.  Jaz became a member of Ann’s pack of rescues.  Each of them has their own story; Tina and Tommy are puppy mill rescues.  Tina was a breeding dog whose insides were almost outside when she was surrendered.  Tommy is her son.  Cheeky was abused and tossed into a ditch.  Then there are the cats – feral initially; they warmed to Ann’s nurturing nature, were neutered and spayed and are enjoying their new lives.

Jaz has settled into his surroundings and seems to take comfort in having siblings.

Ann opened her heart and her home to those in need.  Her garden is also the resting place for previous companions who were lucky enough to find their way into her care, after they pass.

A resting place

I believe Jacqueline would be pleased to see Jaz in his new home.  I wish the world were filled with more kind people like Ann.

It breaks my heart that Jazz had to loose the one person he new and loved, but I’m thankful for people like Ann who step up and gave Jazz the safety and love he so deserves.

Real quick and then I’ll move onto all the good stuff but.. WHAT A-HOLES!! Poor Jacquie. All she wanted was for her beloved Jaz to have a safe, caring place once she was gone. Anywho.. I’m so glad that there are people like Ann who step up when the people who should just.. don’t. At least Jaz gets to live out his life with a loving family, an even better one that what’s left of his. <3

So sad, but a nice ending for Jaz. It’s scary to think that a loved family member like Jaz was left behind. Shame.

Oh my goodness. I was so heartbroken to learn that after everything Jaz’s mom did to set things up in the event of her passing , the family still left Jaz abandoned. 🙁 God Bless Ann for taking Jaz in and giving him the quality of life and a loving home in his twilight years.

Getting my tissue!!! First UGGGGGGGGG some people should be spayed and neutered!!! And I am being NICE about this! There should be LAWS protecting pets when their parents leave MONEY for the family to care for them but you know what – it’s just as well those awful people did not end up with this precious pup! A MUCH better home was waiting for him with Ann!
Bless Ann’s heart for what she does.
What gorgeous pets all of these lovely creatures are! I would be honored to have any of them in my pack.

Oh that’s terrible! Was it not specified in her will? I’m glad Jaz ended up in a home that loves him.

So sad and cruel…. Ann is a very special person to have come to Jazz’s rescue when no one else would.

Great to hear Jazz got a home … but the lawyer should have never let the family take the money that was left for him. Clearly leaving him with them would have been detrimental to Jazz but his new home should have gotten the money.

How sad Jacqueline’s family didn’t take care of Jazz and took all the money and left him. How wonderful someone took him in and is taking care of him in his senior years!

I’m so glad that Jazz was able to find a family that can give him the life he deserves. It’s so hard for them to understand all of the crazy changes, and he is so lucky that he has such an awesome family!

A bittersweet story for Jaz. So many happy years with a loving caring woman. Shame about her family. It takes a special kind of selfish to agree to be guardians and then renege later on when it’s too late. Ann sounds like an amazing woman- bless her.

OMG, Jaz’s story ripped my heart out, how could that poor woman’s family be so cold hearted?! They just took the money she left to care for Jaz and then abandoned that sweet dog?? What monsters! I’m so relieved Jaz has found a wonderful new life, bless your friend Ann for opening her heart and home to Jaz and all the other abandoned and abused animals she has saved. The world needs more people like her.

I can’t begin to tell you how angry I am at that family for taking the money and abandoning Jaz. Of course, ultimately he is better off with Ann than those people. I do wish there was a lawyer who would intervene and get the money back. I’m sure Ann could use it or even give it to the rescue.

Jaz is so cute and I’m glad he ended up in a loving home with buddies.

Giving up a pet is never easy, and sometimes I wish family would step in more when things like this happen. Jaz has ended up in an amazing place and I hope he lives out the rest of his life really happy!
