In our previous post, we shared an overview of all the good stuff (nutrients) in Chicken Soup for the Soul Dog Food. We also highlighted all the things you don’t want to serve your pooch.
Henry and Jack are very ‘food’ motivated and will do anything for a treat. Miss Reese however is more selective and doesn’t work for less than the best. Her verdict? Paw’s up!

Come on, show us those teeth!

just regular food. nothing that sounds as delicious as this!
We serve kibble and lots of fresh veggies.
my dog gets kibble, canned food and supplements. would love to win this!
Healthy grain-free kibble with some fresh chicken (cooked) and extra fresh veggies. My pack loves to try different types of food and treat and would love the chance to try these!
i use holistic select kibble, freeze dried raw, venison raw, mustard greens steamed in olive oil and garlic powder, steamed baby carrots, kefir goats milk, non fat plain greek yogurt, sometimes canned sardines in water, sometimes salmon,
I make my dogs food. I do a combination of raw and home cooked, mostly raw meals but once in awhile I do cook for them and I make their treats. I’m glad there are high quality dog food brands out there though. I know not everyone has the time to research and prepare homemade diets for their pets.
I cook for Layla as I prefer to do so but have heard really good reports about this dog food from those that do feed their dogs kibbles. Thanks for giving more on an insight into it
Lucky Layla!
My dogs love turkey & salmon!
Both are great choices.
Ruby is very food motivated as well and will eat ANYTHING. I am sure she would love any of the varieties but the salmon and sweet potato would probably be her choice.
Glad your dogs loved the food!
We have another giveaway coming in October – perhaps you can win a bag for Ruby!
I’ve never tried the brand, my cats aren’t big fans of pate and I don’t do kibbles. But we sold it at the store and it is very popular. Reasonably priced for good quality.

It’s funny how they ‘acquire’ tastes. My cat and foster cat LOVE pate.
Your pictures are adorable. I can’t even pick a favorite! I need to keep Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet food in mind. I’ve been reading more and more about how if you feed kibble, you should rotate through different kinds of kibble to better ensure you’re meeting the nutritional requirements for complete and balanced meals. We do supplement all of our meals with human foods, but based on my research, I do think I need to start rotating their base kibble. Thanks for the recommendation!
I agree. Variety is best for all kinds of nutrition. Thank you for the compliment on the photos!
I’m glad to see Chicken Soup For The Soul is making both wet and dry food. On the Menu at our house is dry kibble with wet food mixed in. I like to use both for nutritional and taste variety, as well as the additional moisture from wet food. I’m delighted to see that they offer some salmon flavoring in both their wet and dry food, my dogs Love all things Salmon! Great giveaway, I’m entering now.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
….and, you won!
Variety is indeed important; many minute deficiencies can accumulate over time and variety is one way of keeping that risk in check.
Plus, I’m sure they experience boredom, too.
My dogs really enjoy a subscription delivery of freshly cooked food as well as grain-free kibble to help keep the costs down. I love that photo of Henry looking at the magazine!
Lol. Thanks, Beth. Freshly cooked food. Wow, that’s luxury for pooches!
Oh I LOVE the pictures, the pup peeking around the door is just priceless 🙂
Made my day!!!
That’s Reese. She knows how to work the camera 😉
We’re glad to hear this food works for you. We were willing to try any food, but with Truffle’s recent bladder stones, we’re a little more restricted.
That is understandable.
I just recently heard about Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet food. Looks like this food does just as good for the tummy AND the soul. What a nice hefty giveaway. I don’t own a dog however good luck to the participants. Will also share to get the word out!
Thanks, Kamira. Btw, Chicken Soup Pets also does cat food!
mmmmm….. this looks and sounds amazing – I might give this a try for Ralph!!!
Is it still valid? 🙂
This is some really good information about caring for a dog. I want to get a puppy soon. So, I liked that I should prevent my puppy from eating onion and garlic.
Hey Sadie…This is actually pretty good info on caring for dogs….BTW my dogs love salmon and turkey…
