BLOGGING FROM A TO Z
Meet Mike, a large four and a half year old Border Collie & Dalmatian Mix in need of a loving, forever home.
This stunning boy has a seizure disorder controlled with medication that costs less than some people spend on coffee each month.
I spoke with two staff members who both agreed:
Mike is an absolute sweetheart
When surrendered to the shelter, he clung to his owner. Mike loves people and being close to them. He enjoys going for walks before settling in for a cuddle.
Are you interested in meeting Mike? If so, please contact White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a no kill shelter located in White Oak, Pennsylvania.
Thank you,

Hope he finds his forever home soon!

Those eyes break my heart!
This is a beautiful dog. I’m so glad you’re doing this! I’m involved with greyhound rescue, but whenever any dog finds its forever home it’s a good day!

Thank you. Yes, all dogs deserve loving homes.
That’s so sad that he was surrendered, breaks my heart. But hopefully he can begin a new journey with a real forever home soon!

Thank you.
I will absolutely share Mike. We adopted our dog, Ruby, knowing she had a seizure disorder. It’s not a big deal at and you are right the medication is easy to give and not expensive. Paws crossed for sweet Mike.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Hopefully someone reading will be inspired and not frightened to adopt Mike (and other like him).
He looks like a real sweetie! Poor baby – I cannot even imagine the pain he must have felt being left at the shelter. 🙁 I hope he finds his REAL forever home soon with people who absolutely adore him!
Whoever adopts this beautiful boy knowing about his condition will be his REAL people and Mike will know unconditional love – I’m sure of it! Thank you.
Mike is adorable! Just pinned over on my Pinterest #LiveGibStrong K-9 Epilepsy Awareness board. I’ll be happy to share Mike as well. As a mom to an Epi Siberian Husky, Gibson, and author of many articles and two books on Canine Epilepsy, they are amazing dogs! They do not let epilepsy stand in the way of loving life. There are medications, alternative therapies, and many resources available to help families of Epi-dogs give them the best life possible and have support from others. I’d be happy any time to speak to any one who would like info on living with a dog with Canine Epilepsy. I’m proud to say that my Gibson, who was diagnosed shortly after his third birthday with idiopathic epilepsy, and although he had some side effects from the medications that we handled with alternative therapies successfully, he lived *seven years seizure free!* He loved life and taught me so much along our journey together. He was my sweet beloved heart dog. I sadly lost him this past December just shy of his 10th birthday, but NOT to epilepsy. (He passed suddenly when he collapsed and while in surgery for a splenectomy, it was discovered he had hemangiosarcoma that had spread). Gibson’s legacy of “Dogs can – and DO – live happy full lives with Canine Epilepsy” is a message I will continue on in his name to share through our #LiveGibStrong awareness campaign. I hope Mike finds his forever family soon! If anyone has any questions, or would like some information and resource links, they may contact me at FiveSibesLiveGibStrong(at)gmail(dot)com. And stay tuned for my Canine Epilepsy resource library in my new soon-to-be launched website FiveSibes.com – coming soon!

Oh my goodness! Such a sweet little sweetheart. I imagine he is so scared 🙁 We are praying that his forever human will step up for him!
The shelter staff seem lovely but it has been a huge change for this poor boy indeed.
I hope Mike can find a wonderful forever home soon. It’s always so sad to hear about pets who are abandoned and they have no idea why.

I love that you feature adoptable dogs in needs of homes! And I really love the illustration. 🙂
Thank you Bernard.
Many owner surrenders are just so heartbreaking. The image of Mike clinging to his owner as he was being surrendered breaks my heart. They probably could no longer care for him with his illness. Will share to help him find a loving home.

Mike is so cute, he deserves a great home that will give him lots of cuddles!
